We’re hiring Research Engineers and Research Scientists to work on Ambitious Mechanistic Interpretability (AMI) at Principles of Intelligence: designing novel tools to reverse engineer current-day systems (such as innovating on SAEs and weight-based decompositions), exploring how interpretability tools can be used during training for better safety guarantees, and researching interpretable architectures by design.

Iliad Intensive + Iliad Fellowship

Applications are now open for the Iliad Intensive and the Iliad Fellowship. These programs, taken together, are our evolution of the PIBBSS × Iliad Research Residency pilot. The Iliad Intensive will cover taught coursework, serving as a widely comprehensive introduction to the field of technical AI alignment. The Iliad Fellowship will cover mentored research; it will support mentored research fellows for three months, giving them adequate time to generate substantial research outputs.

PIBBSS Fellowship Program Director (PD) at Principles of Intelligence

We’re hiring a Program Director (PD) to lead the PIBBSS Fellowship – set strategy, run selections twice a year (summer + winter), and execute the program while supervising a global cohort of fellows and affiliates working on AI alignment research.
